Farne Islands (06/05/25)!

On the second day of the trip, I decided to go on a walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh Castle whilst Orlando went on another ferry trip. It was a surprisingly difficult walk. I decided to go along the beach which was honestly not the best decision. Parts of the beach were covered in rocks with seaweed on, making it extremely slippery, with other parts containing rockpools that seemed to be 5-feet deep at parts! Anyway, I decided to stick to it, and got some pretty nice pictures of Sandwich Terns as a result. As the beach came to an end, I took an even worse route up the sand dunes to get better views of the castle. Some of the dunes must have been at least 20-30m high, making summiting them a challenge (which was made worse by the lack of any footpaths). Eventually, I decided that this was all a bit silly, and stuck with a short footpath through a field, before finally ending up at Bamburgh, and having a short stroll along the Castle's grounds. After getting to Bamburgh, I met up again with Orlando, and we did some final birdwatching before returning to Lancaster.
